They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the Lord to care for them.
Psalm 112:7 NLTse
Psalm 112 describes the godly or righteous person, their character traits, and blessings they will enjoy. As I wait for news this week and could worry about the coming economic times ahead of us, this verse is a timely reminder that I need not and should not fear bad news, for the Lord will take care of us. And I don't need to worry about the economy or personal financial provision, because I confidently trust the Lord to care for us!
Boldly take hold of the truths in Psalm 112. Confidently trust the Lord to care for us, and do not fear bad news!
Lord, thank you for timely truth. Thank you for opening Your Word to me today. I confidently and fearlessly take hold of Your promise to take care of me. I confidently claim Jeremiah 29:11, which says, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Help me not to close up financially but rather to share freely and give generously to those in need (Psalm 112:9). You are my Provider, my Refuge and Strength! In You alone do I put my trust. I love you.
