Daily devotional: Longing for the House of my God

A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else! I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the homes of the wicked.
Psalm 84:10 NLT

Just as the psalmist wrote in v.2, I long to enter the courts of the Lord, both his physical church building where I can worship Him, learn about Him, and enjoy community with fellow believers, as well as to enter the Lord's presence and experience Him. Just as God stirred hearts to rebuild the temple of the Lord in Ezra 1:1,5, God has stirred my heart too.

Praise the Lord for this yearning He has placed in my heart! Worship Him, experience Him, seek Him, and serve Him.

Lord, You are good. I love you and praise You! I long to be in Your presence, to be with You and be near to You. Thank you for calling me and giving me passion for You and passion for Your house. Please enable me to serve You wholeheartedly and enjoy You fully. My cry is to know You and be known by You, to seek Your face more than to seek Your hand.
