Daily devotional: Be intentional and diligent

But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus--the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.
Acts 20:24 NLT

Paul was extremely intentional and diligent in his focus and efforts. He knew what Jesus called him to do and he appears to have been faithful to cast aside everything that did not matter to run the race set out before him. At the end of his life, Paul was able to say he had fought the good fight, he had finished the race, and he had remained faithful (2 Timothy 4:7).

Faithfully follow the Lord as I raise my family, enter into the work He has called me, and follow the Holy Spirit's leading. Cast aside that which does not matter and be diligent.

Lord, thank you for giving us Paul as an example. Please help me in my desire to be faithful and diligently do that which You lead me to do. I still want to be a man after your own heart. Help me to see when I am expending effort where there is not return. Help me to steward well the time that You have provided me here on earth. I always enjoy seeing what You do, and I look forward to see what You have in store that I will get to observe! I love you!
