But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him.
Acts 12:5 NLT
The church didn't resign themselves to dismissing Peter's situation as "God's will." Rather, they prayed earnestly and believed God for divine intervention in a situation that was humanly impossible for them to change. God answered their prayers and miraculously intervened to save His loved one.
Even in important decisions and situations, I don't think I can truly say that my prayers are "very earnest." Because God loves me, I can confidently pray earnestly for Him to intervene in our world.
Grow in my prayer life. Pray earnestly and have faith that God will work each situation for His glory.
Lord, thank you for your faithfulness to me and for loving me undeservedly. I'm sorry that my prayer life has not been mature, that I tend to be hurried or distracted. Please help me grow and be confident and earnest in my requests before You. I know that You are sovereign and will not always answer my prayers exactly how I want since You know better than me. I can rest in that You always work for the good of those who love You (Romans 8:28). And it is also clear that You do reach Your hand into humanity and do intervene, heal, and do other miracles. Make my faith strong, Lord Jesus! I love you!
