"Now go and tell his disciples, including Peter, that Jesus is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there, just as he told you before he died."
Mark 16:7 NLT
After swearing to stand by Jesus, Peter disowned Him three times. I can imagine how ashamed he felt. But Jesus doesn't just let Peter continue to suffer in his shame. In His great compassion, He makes sure Peter is included with the disciples, specially called out. In the same way, Jesus loves us and has compassion on us, even when we fall. He wants us to come back to Him rather than to wallow in shame.
When I fall, come back to Jesus. He seeks me out, loves me, and has great compassion for me. I can repent, claim His forgiveness that He so graciously offers me, and walk again with Him.
Lord, I love you. Thank you that we don't fall off your radar screen when we fall. Thank you that your grace is sufficient to cover all of our sins. Thank you for your great love and compassion, for your forgiveness that allows us to throw off all shame. Thank you for tearing the curtain into the Most Holy Place and making it possible for us to come before You to be with You, enjoy You, and present our requests to You. We are not worthy of such lavish grace. I love you!
