Daily devotional: Opened hearts

One of them was Lydia from Thyatira, a merchant of expensive purple cloth, who worshiped God. As she listened to us, the Lord opened her heart, and she accepted what Paul was saying.
Acts 16:14 NLT

If people's hearts are not open, they won't accept the gospel message and accept Jesus as their savior, even if the most skilled communicator is reaching out to them. But when our hearts are opened by the Lord, we can understand and respond to His gift.

Pray for the Lord to open the hearts of all my friends, family, and all others I will come into contact with so that they may accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Lord, You are awesome and most worthy of highest praise. There is so much pain and suffering right now. Please minister to my friends, family, and everyone else that is troubled. Please bring healing and comfort to them. May they experience Jesus and trust Him. Lord, please open the hearts of those I know and those I come into contact with so that they will taste and see that the Lord is good, that they will put their trust and hope in Jesus for their salvation. And Holy Spirit, please speak through me so that they hear the message they need to hear. I love you, Lord!
