Daily devotional: Servant leadership

But among you it will be different. Those who are the greatest among you should take the lowest rank, and the leader should be like a servant.
Luke 22:26 NLT

Jesus was among the disciples as one who served, not as one who led as the world leads--for self gain, for power, prestige, or money. He has called us to lead like servants. Jesus has given us a holy, perfect blueprint to follow. Even at home, we men are called to lay our lives down for our wives as Christ did and loved the church. What an awesome challenge that requires the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and allowing Christ Jesus to live through me.

Lead like a servant. Grow in my understanding and mature as a Christ-like servant leader. Pray and rely on my Lord for His help.

Lord Jesus, You are so amazing. I am humbled that You, the God of all the universe, the King of kings and Lord of lords, came to serve me and lay your life down for me. What an awesome privilege. Lord, please indwell me and live out Your life through me. Please help me to serve You, my family, and my team at work well, with Your character and power. "Father, I will not worry about tomorrow or all of its questions. Father, I will just trust You (from Darrell Evan's song below)." I love you!

Special song today:
You Are My Portion, by Darrell Evans
