Daily devotional: Above reproach

We live in such a way that no one will stumble because of us, and no one will find fault with our ministry.
2 Corinthians 6:3 NLT

As a representative of Jesus Christ, I need to be very careful in how I live and the choices I make. Others will make judgements about Christianity and God based on my character and behavior since I associate myself with Christ. While the importance remains regardless of my vocation, it is perhaps even more visible as I go to work full-time at Faithbridge. There are hypocrites who claim to be Christians, and real Christians who are all imperfect and still sin, but I don't want anyone to stumble or find fault with God's plan for salvation and community inasmuch as it is in my power.

Carefully consider choices above reproach as I live my life through Christ within me, guided and empowered by God's Spirit.

Heavenly Father, what a privilege it is that the Creator of the universe and Lord over all that is both seen and unseen wants me to be able to call Him Father. Thank you so much for your extravagant grace. But let me not abuse it or continue to live in my flesh. Help me to be a godly man living above reproach. Thank you, Father!
