But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. "Save me, Lord!" he shouted.
Matthew 14:30 NLT
We can have times where we are strengthened in our faith and can walk courageously in obedience to the Lord, enjoying a closeness with Him that leads us to action. But if we take our eyes off Jesus and instead focus on the circumstances, issues, and threats around us, we too can easily be like Peter who started out strong but became overwhelmed.
Keep our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). Look at things from God's point of view, not from a human point of view (Matthew 16:23).
Dear Father, I love you. Thank you for this new day that starts a new chapter of my life. Thank you for the rich blessings, experiences, and friendships that You have given me to enjoy, learn from, and grow through. I am so grateful that Your ways are so much better than mine. Lord Jesus, I fix my eyes on You, the Author and Perfecter of my faith. Please lead me and help me not to falter from seeing what is around me, but rather help me to see things from Your point of view. You are awesome and worthy of my praise!
