Daily devotional: How to love

Scripture
Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.
1 Corinthians 13:4-5 NLT

Observation
1 Corinthians 13 offers great instruction on the importance and nature of love. It is relatively straightforward to accept that love is the greatest thing there is. But it is still challenging to successfully love the way God has called me to.

Application
Grow in the maturity of how I love Stephanie and others. Be controlled by the Holy Spirit, who lives in me!

Prayer
Lord, You are awesome. I worship You, praise You, and love You however imperfectly. Thank you for instructing me in your ways and growing me to be continually more and more like You. In Jesus, I see perfect love. Thank you for giving us a record of His life and love. Please live your life fully in me. May your love overflow in and through my life. Help me not be irritable, keep record of being wronged, be impatient, or be unkind. Let my love for Stephanie be through your power and lead her and others to You as a result. I love you! I am thankful that I serve the one and only God who is capable of meeting this request!
