Make allowance for each other's faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.
Colossians 3:13-14 (see vv.12-15)
Because I belong to Jesus Christ, keeping grudges against anyone is just not an option. God chose me even while I wasn't looking for Him. He offered His forgiveness to me even while I had grievous sins against Him. His grace and mercy lavished on me compels me to act similarly with others, even when they offend me or their faults rub me the wrong way.
Clothe myself with love, and let Christ's peace rule in my heart. Bear with those who I struggle with holding a grudge against and forgive them.
Lord, You are so good, and Your Word is so living and active. Sharper than any double edged sword, it cuts into the deep issues in my life and my heart. Thank You for the reconciliation You gave me in spite of my sinful nature. Please help me apply today's principle through the power of Christ living in me and Your indwelling Spirit. Let me be known by a character of love and peace that comes from Christ and transcends all understanding.
