Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.
John 15:4 NLT
It is so important to remain "in Jesus"--in prayer, in contemplation, in reading the Word, in worship, and in community. Jesus has called us to bear much fruit, and we cannot do that if we don't actively remain in Him regularly. We can't just let the relationship go on auto pilot. We have to keep building it and growing close to Him.
Actively keep Jesus at the forefront of my life! My perspective will be much different as a result. I will bear much fruit (v.5), God will grant my requests (v.7), and I will bring great glory to God (v.8).
Heavenly Father, thank you for this awesome word You gave us through Jesus. Thank you for preserving Your Word and making it available to us. I want nothing more than to remain in You, and You in me. Please fill me and control me, renew me and transform me. Please help me to bear much fruit in a way that will bring glory to You! I love you!
