Daily devotional: Begin with the end in mind

It is better to go to a house of mourning than to go to a house of feasting, for death is the destiny of every man; the living should take this to heart.
Ecclesiastes 7:2 NIV

How much different would my life look if I really kept this in light? Time is precious and limited. How will I glorify God, love others, and invest in what lasts during my limited, ever decreasing days on the earth?

Live a life worthy of the calling I have received (Ephesians 4:1)! Put off my old self and put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness (Ephesians 4:22-24). Live and love intentionally.

Lord, You are awesome and worthy of all praise. I am but mortal. Thank you for blessing me with life now and for the eternal life awaiting me that You so graciously lavished on me! Help me make my days here count. Let me not waste or tear down but rather build up and store treasures in heaven. Use me and lead me, I pray in Jesus' precious name! I love you, Lord!
