Daily devotional: Persevere

Scripture
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day--and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
2 Timothy 4:7-8 NIV

Observation
Paul persevered diligently in obedience to his calling. When he reached the end of his life, he was able to stand up with a good conscience and proclaim that he had fought, finished, and kept his faith.

Application
In the power of Jesus Christ, may I too diligently fight the good fight, finish the race, and keep the faith. Let me not be ashamed or disappointed when I reach my Lord Jesus, the righteous Judge!

Prayer
Lord Jesus, I love you. I need Your strength, Your power, Your Holy Spirit to indwell me. Please fill me, guide me, and transform me into Your likeness. Help me to keep the end in mind along the way so that I will be intentional in everything I do.
