Daily devotional: Seek the throne of grace with confidence!

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Hebrews 4:15-16 NIV

Jesus knows me and knows my weaknesses. How awesome that as believers we do not have to approach the throne of judgment and wrath, or approach the throne of God with uncertainty and doubt, but rather we can approach the throne of grace with confidence as we seek Him. He will give me mercy and grace to help me in my time of need.

Seek the Lord my God. Call out to my great High Priest, Jesus Son of God, who sits at the Father's right hand and is my Advocate. Praise the Holy Spirit, who is my Intercessor!

Lord God, I seek You and call out to You today. I come before Your throne of grace with confidence. I know You have the best for me. Holy Spirit, please intercede for me, and give me the words to pray too. "I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Those who are far from you will perish; you destroy all who are unfaithful to you. But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds." (Psalms 73:23-28 NIV) Lord, I turn to You and wait for You. Thank you for healing me, for leading me with cords of human kindness, with ties of love. Thank you for lifting the yoke from my neck, and bending down to feed me! (from Hosea 11:3-4)
