Daily devotional: Seek the Lord

Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.
Psalm 105:4 NIV

My natural tendency is to look to myself and my own strength, and when I seek God I tend to seek His hand (for success, provision, or help) rather than to seek His face. The Lord has provided immeasurably more than I could have asked for by not wanting me to go through life limited by my own strength, but rather looking to Him and His strength. And if I seek His face always, I will keep an appropriate perspective of my life and position in relation to His, and my requests and my doings will be aligned with His will. And He promises if I seek Him first that He will take care of all my needs!

Look to the Lord and His strength. Seek His face always!

Lord, thank you for this new day. Thank you for bringing my family safely home. I pray that today I would enter into Your presence and seek Your face always, and by doing that You would reveal Yourself to me and draw me into Your will and into what You have for me to enjoy with You. I love You. I seek not to handle everything in my own strength, but rather I look to You and Your strength. I pray that today and always You would draw me into the work You are doing and allow me to take part in it. Thank you, Lord!
