Daily devotional: Pray fervently

One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God.
Luke 6:12 NIV

Jesus had to be exhausted from His extremely full schedule and pouring out of Himself to all the people that came to Him for healing. Yet he often withdrew to lonely places to pray (Luke 5:16), and when picking which would become His twelve apostles, he spent the night praying to God. My prayer life is in its infancy compared to the example Jesus gave us.

Be more intentional, more focused, and invest more time praying to the Lord God. He will hear me, fill me, lead me, and provide for all my needs.

Lord, I love you. You are worthy of my full attention and all praise. You are worthy of sacrifice, of devotion, and constant prayer from those who follow You and trust in You. Please help me grow my prayer life. Show me and prompt me how and when to pray. Help me to prioritize my life accordingly and not let prayer be an afterthought. And please keep me from making important decisions that are not bathed in prayer. Help me to see the results of praying so that I will be further encouraged and help establish life-long habits that draw me close to You and enable me to be fruitful for You.
