Daily devotional: Total devotion to God

Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants! They trusted in him and defied the king's command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God."
Daniel 3:28 NIV

In my day and country and society, it is hard to imagine literally having to choose between my allegiance to God and my life. And yet God calls me to total devotion to Him, no matter what the cost. We see from this example that God was glorified as a result. And if my life can culminate in God being glorified, than it has been worthwhile. God calls us to "Open wide our mouth and He will fill it" (Psalm 81:10).

Devote my self fully to the Lord my God. Worship Him alone. Open wide my mouth and allow Him to fill it!

Lord, thank you for the awesome word You spoke through Ken today. Thank you for the special times this weekend, and for bringing Your presence into this room tonight. I declare my total devotion to You, O Lord. I choose to follow You fully, no matter what the cost. Please be with me and fill my wide open mouth to receive all that You have for me, both blessings and sufferings. Help me to see You clearly, to know You intimately, and to follow You faithfully. I love you!
