Daily devotional: Diligently stay on target

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace.
Acts 20:24 NIV

Paul was driven and diligent, not looking to the right or to the left but staying on course according to the objectives he had received from Jesus. All else paled in significance.

Live purposefully, listening to the Holy Spirit, not wasting time. Be diligent and make the most of every opportunity so that I can finish like Paul, who was able to say that he had done everything and no one's soul was on his head.

Lord, I want to live with this same diligence and passion that Paul had to serve you. Please fill me with your Holy Spirit so that I can live out each moment as Your servant, effective for You. Please guide me and direct me. Help me to be the man of God that I desire to be. Please especially grant me discernment so that I do not miss out on what You have for me. I love you!
