Daily devotional: Give God the glory

They shouted, "This is the voice of a god, not of a man." Immediately, because Herod did not give praise to God, an angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms and died.
Acts 12:22-23 NIV

This is a good reminder that glory and credit should be given to God rather than taking credit for His work for ourselves. God pulls back His hand of favor when we become prideful about the successes and gifts He provides us as being of our own doing.

Be keenly observant of God working in and through me, and ascribe all the glory to God rather than puffing myself up in pride when He uses me for His glory and to accomplish His purposes. Don't take the credit for what He does!

Lord, I want to be fully available to You, for You to use and accomplish Your will. Help me not to be prideful. Show any way in me that is not right. I praise You for the gifts You have given to me, and for lining up circumstances, people, and resources so that things are accomplished. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of Your work. May You receive all the glory, not me. I love you!
