Daily devotional: Expatriate for the Lord

All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth.
Hebrews 11:13 NIV

It is imperative that we continue throughout life living in faith in our God and Savior, Jesus Christ. We have assurance of our hope that one day we will be joined with Christ, having been made holy by His blood, and we will be welcomed to our eternal, heavenly home.

Live as an expat, an alien and stranger on earth. I am in the world but not of it. This should be on the forefront of my mind as I live intentionally and diligently according to God's plan for me.

Lord, thank you for this new day and new week. Thank you for saving me, for calling me to a heavenly home. Thank you for calling me to be one of Your elect, for strengthening my faith, and for living in me and through me. Let me now go forward and live out this faith You have given me, with boldness, confidence, love, joy, and peace. Please keep transforming me to be more and more like You. Help me to see everything through heavenward lenses, that I would not make myself at home on the earth but rather that I would be Your expat, doing the work You have called me to while I am here. I love you!
