Daily devotional: Fix my thoughts on Jesus

Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess.
Hebrews 3:1 NIV

Jesus fully understands our human experience, suffering, and temptations because He lived through it all Himself. Not only that, but He did so perfectly, and through His death He has destroyed Satan's hold and freed us from our slavery to sin. Therefore, my response should be to fix my thoughts on Jesus and continue in my faith.

Fix my thoughts on Jesus. Look to Him for my salvation and help through times of trials and temptations.

Lord, I realize that I too often look to You and then go back to my own limited perspective, forgetting the abundance of power and life that is in You. In all I do, I strive to fix my thoughts on You, Lord Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of my faith. Thank you for stooping down to my level and to make the ultimate sacrifice so that Your Church may be sanctified and restored to You. Thank you for community, for a living Word, and for being active in my life. I love You.
