Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, "Follow me!"
John 21:19 NIV
I love how human Peter was, because I can relate and appreciate his great love and devotion to Jesus but still struggling with the magnitude of Jesus in his actions and speech. And just as Jesus clearly challenged Peter to not worry about God's plan for the other disciples but to follow Jesus, I pray that in my life and in my death that it can also be said that I will glorify God and have fully followed Him.
Follow my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
Lord, I fully submit to You. I am powerless and without sufficient strength on my own to glorify You, but I don't have to worry about my own strength or my own power, since You live in me and through me! I affirm my choice to follow You, no matter the cost. I choose You with reckless abandon. I love you! Please work in me, on me, and through me for the glory of Your name!
