Daily devotional: Spirit of power, love, and self-discipline

For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
2 Timothy 1:6-7 NIV

God gives believers gifts to be used and the Holy Spirit to fill us and transform us. We are to develop and use our spiritual gifts, and not hold back or give excuses but rather walk in the spirit of power, of love, and of self-discipline that the Lord has given to us.

Consider how I am developing and using the spiritual gifts the Lord has blessed me with. And don't be timid but rather utilize the spirit of power, of love, and of self discipline that the Lord has blessed me with.

Lord, I love you. Thank you for being actively at work within me and through me. I trust You, and I am thrilled to know that in You I have the spirit of power, love, and self-discipline. Let me not forget this or let my spiritiual gifts go unused. Please grant me clarity of thought and purpose as I understand my spiritual gifts and put them to good use as a faithful steward. Please let me walk closely with You, and hear every prompting and word that comes from You today.
