Daily devotional: Yielding to the Lord's will

“Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him.
Luke 22:42-43 NIV

Jesus showed us the perfect example of having his own desire to be spared the wrath and death that was to come but being completely willing to submit to the Father's plan. And when Jesus asserted His submission, God sent an angel to strengthen Him. This is a testimony to us when faced with difficult decisions forward to yield to God's will and trust Him.

Pray for my desires but yield my will to the Lord's. Trust Him and ask Him to strengthen me.

Heavenly Father, You are awesome and worthy of my praise and submission. Thank you for saving me and taking care of me so richly. So I submit to You fully and ask that Your will be done in my life and through me. Please lead me in peace to where You have for me to follow. Please strengthen me and guide me. You are my Shepherd and I eagerly seek to listen to Your voice and follow You. I love you.
