Daily devotional: Compelled by the Spirit

"And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace."
Acts 20:22-24 NIV

Paul lived his life compelled by the Holy Spirit. He was not looking for the easy life or the comfortable life. He had been given a task from Jesus, and his entire life revolved around that.

Live my life intentionally for the Lord, listening and following the Holy Spirit's guidance.

Lord, I love you. Your grace is amazing, and I worship You who alone are God. Please keep me in close communion with the Holy Spirit. Help me to hear His voice and understand each task You have in store for me. Help me to finish the race and complete the task, just as Paul did.
