Daily devotional: Effect of God's grace on me

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.
1 Corinthians 15:10 NIV

God has lavished His grace on me so that I am what I am. What effect on me and through me has His grace been? Am I sensitive to the Holy Spirit, working diligently through the grace of God that is with me? I don't want my life to look anything like what it would have looked like if I had not experienced God's grace.

Don't just use my freedom to live my life as I could live even without faith in God through Jesus Christ. Make sure that I allow God's grace to have a significant effect on what I think, what I do, and how I do it.

Lord, I praise You and thank you for your lavish grace that has made me who I am in Christ Jesus. Let Your grace not be without effect. Rather, I pray that Your grace would have a major transformational effect on what I think, what I do, and how I do it. Let no one who knows me be able to miss Your central role in my life. Help me to work hard with all of Your strength, not mine. I love you!
