Daily devotional: Faith without doubt

Scripture
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Mark 11:24 NIV (see vv.22-25)

Observation
The only times Jesus did not work great miracles were when the people's faith was weak. The faith we have in God is not to be with doubt, or like someone peeking with one eye open wondering if God will really listen and answer our request. We are to really believe that we will receive it and that it will be done for us. Obviously this does not apply to requests that are in opposition to His will, but when our requests are lined up with God's will and character, He will answer us when we have faith and do not doubt.

Application
Stand strong in faith. Boldly present my requests to God and believe that He will do it.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, on one hand I want to believe that this is true, but on the other hand I get skeptical about whether You really mean what Jesus said in this Scripture passage. But because I trust fully in Your Word, I choose to take hold of it and believe it. Please fill me with the Holy Spirit and strengthen my faith. Help me not to look to man's strength but to Yours, to boldly present my requests to You in faith. I love you!
