"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
Matthew 6:19-21 NIV
I've definitely seen the truth of my heart being where my treasure is. This is one area of my life where I try but easily get distracted and fall back into materialism. An eternal perspective helps me remember the relative importance of stuff here on earth. I don't want to be distracted or of no value to the Lord's Kingdom because of misprioritized pursuits here.
Continue to think about where my treasure is and where the Lord is calling me to further giving up for His sake. Talk with my wife and challenge each other to choose to store our treasure in heaven.
Holy Spirit, I pray that You would continue to challenge me and bring me into a right perspective. Help me to see things from Your perspective and be sensitive to Your leading. Grant unity with Stephanie and give us each the same yearnings so that we can move forward and be useful for Your Kingdom. I love you!
