"Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns."
Matthew 24:45-46 NIV
We don't know exactly when Jesus will return or when we will die and go to Him. So Jesus exhorts us to be faithful and diligent in the responsibilities He has left us with rather than be caught indulging in personal gratification and living with disregard to God's Word.
Be faithful to be who God has called me to be and to carry out His commands, sensitive to the Holy Spirit's leading in my life.
Lord, I love you. I submit to You and ask You to help me to be faithful and diligent as a man after Your own heart. Help me to not ignore Your commands and the calling You have on my life but instead be sensitive to hear and understand and respond in a way that brings You glory. Help me to stay the course You have set before me and be faithful all the days of my life.
