Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.
Romans 5:1-2 NIV
If our justification, our reconciliation and peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand, and the hope of the glory of God, is not reason for rejoicing, then I don't know what is! The Lord is good. His love endures forever. We can even rejoice in our sufferings (vv.3-5), because they produce perseverance, leading to character, leading to hope. At just the right time, when we were still powerless and sinners, Christ died for us!
Reflect on and rejoice in all that God has done for me.
Lord, I give all my thanks to You. You are so good. Your love is amazing. Thank you for justifying me, for reconciling me to You, for giving me peace with You, for this grace in which I now stand. Jesus, thank you for giving me access by faith into this grace in which I now stand, for dying for my sins--not after I had done something for You or even shown remorse, but before that while I was ungodly and a sinner. Thank you for hope. And thank you even for the difficult times that grow my perseverance, character, and hope. I love you!
