Daily devotional: Remember my place in relation to the Lord

Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all.
1 Chronicles 29:11-12 NIV

The Lord God is supreme. He owns all and rules over all. He graciously provides for my needs and wants and gives strength to me. See also Psalm 95:3-7.

Because of the Lord's position of authority and supremacy and my position as His adopted son whom He loves, I need to rest in His plan and obey Him with joy and peace.

Lord, I love you. Thank you for adopting me as Your son, for removing all my wrongdoings from Your holy sight through the precious blood of Jesus, and for doing for me what I do not deserve—to provide for me, to have a plan for me, to grant me favor, and to provide me with meaningful relationships and work. I'm sorry for forgetting my rightful position to You and for forgetting that You are making and molding and using me in Your sovereignty and love. I trust in You, and I give myself wholly to You for Your purposes. Please use me, grow me, and draw me ever closer to You.
