Daily devotional: The God of something new

For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
Isaiah 43:19 NIV

The Lord is God of new things. His way is to take that which is dead and breathe life. Just as God chose Israel and led them out of slavery, just as He brought salvation through Jesus soon after Isaiah's time, just as God much more recently worked all things for His glory to direct my path to Houston, to Faithbridge, back to HP, and in my marriage, family, and friendships, and just as He breathed new life into my grandmother, so He alone is God, and He will continue to do something new.

Watch in eager anticipation. Seek fully after God and see the newness of life He has in store for me.

Lord, I seek You. I am so grateful for these chapters in Isaiah that spoke to me so loudly two years ago and continue to excite me as I read them again. Thank you for being the God of something new. I eagerly anticipate what You have in store and to see what You are now about to do.
