Daily devotional: Hold fast to the Lord

Hezekiah trusted in the Lord, the God of Israel. There was no one like him among all the kings of Judah, either before him or after him. He held fast to the Lord and did not cease to follow him; he kept the commands the Lord had given Moses. And the Lord was with him; he was successful in whatever he undertook. He rebelled against the king of Assyria and did not serve him.
2 Kings 18:5-7 NIV

Like King Hezekiah, I too want to trust in the Lord, to hold fast to the Lord and not cease to follow Him, to keep the commands the Lord has given me. Just as Hezekiah was not perfect, I too slip and need discipline. I know that the Lord too is with me. I know that I will be successful in whatever I undertake if I am following fully after the Lord and seeking to accomplish that which He has for me.

Seek the Lord my God. In all my ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct my paths!

Lord, I acknowledge You, the Author of all life. Science attempts to answer the hows, the whens, and the wheres, but You have answered the whys. Let me not put my trust in that which is fallible and changing, but in You, who are infallible and are forever unchanging. Your love is amazing. Thank you for giving me life abundantly, for giving me lasting peace, contentment, and joy. Even though things will not always go my way, and troubles will not avoid me, I put my trust in You; I rest in You. I love you.
